Sports and recreation

 

Among the major sports, various inter-village football competitions, hadudu, boat races, bullfighting and wrestling were organized in a local manner. Now, in the current of time, boating and bullfighting have been lost, but there is no shortage of rural entertainment.There are also occasional jatrapalas, bayati song festivals, circus performances. Besides, Baishakhi Mela is held every year on the occasion of 1st Baishakh. Due to the popularity of cricket at present, cricket tournaments and volleyball, badminton games are now organized.
